

Jawad Hussain, M.D.
Dr. Jawad Hussain is a Harvard-trained, board-certified interventional radiologist with a passion for patient-centered, image-guided therapies. He joins IR Centers via Commonwealth Radiology and will be practicing in our Mid-Atlantic region, contributing to the continued growth of outpatient embolization services.
Dr. Hussain received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Boston University and earned both his M.D. and an M.S. in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, and went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Michigan.

His clinical expertise spans a wide range of IR procedures, including uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), prostate artery embolization (PAE), thyroid nodule ablation, genicular artery embolization (GAE), IVC filter retrieval, embolization for hemorrhoids, and vertebral compression fracture repair (kyphoplasty and sacroplasty). He has a strong focus on cancer embolization and hepatobiliary interventions, aligning perfectly with IR Centers’ multidisciplinary treatment pathways and procedural algorithms.
Dr. Hussain currently serves on the Credentials Committee at Memorial Regional Medical Center and is known for delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to his patients. He is deeply committed to procedural quality, safety, and outcomes in the outpatient setting. His approach integrates advanced training, patient communication, and procedural excellence—all values at the heart of IR Centers.
Outside of work, Dr. Hussain enjoys staying active, cooking new recipes, and spending time with his wife and four children.
