Dr. Kunal Patel
Dr. Kunal Patel is a board-certified interventional radiologist with a strong foundation in minimally invasive therapies focused on improving quality of life and reducing surgical burden. He is joining IR Centers through our partnership with Commonwealth Radiology and brings with him clinical excellence in high-volume embolization procedures and patient-centered care.
Dr. Patel earned his B.S. in Biology at the University of Georgia and completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. Following a surgical internship at Orlando Health, he completed a Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he developed particular interest in outpatient embolization and endovascular oncology.
Dr. Patel has advanced experience in procedures such as prostate artery embolization (PAE), uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), hemorrhoid artery embolization (HAE), genicular artery embolization (GAE), and ablation techniques for oncology. He is also proficient in treating venous disease, including varicose veins and pelvic congestion syndrome, as well as hepatobiliary drainage, vertebral augmentation, and minimally invasive cancer therapy.
He will be moving his DEA license to the IR Centers location as part of his onboarding process and will be credentialed with all major payors under our outpatient model. His training and procedural focus align directly with our platform’s commitment to evidence-based embolization and outpatient innovation. Dr. Patel is passionate about reducing barriers to care and providing durable, minimally invasive options for patients across urology, orthopedics, and women’s health.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Patel enjoys staying active through running, biking, and tennis, as well as traveling and spending time with his wife and their young child.
