Dr. Charles Nwanze is a dual board-certified interventional radiologist joining IR
Centers El Paso, where he brings advanced expertise in minimally invasive, image-
guided procedures. His clinical focus includes tumor ablation (cryoablation and
microwave), uterine fibroid and pelvic congestion embolization, chemoembolization, and
vascular access procedures such as gastrostomy and port catheter placement.

Dr. Nwanze earned his medical degree from the University of Benin School of
Medicine. He completed his postdoctoral training in Family Medicine at Columbus
Regional Health, followed by a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at LSU Health
Sciences Center. He then completed a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional
Radiology at the Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center, affiliated with the Geisel
School of Medicine.

He is board-certified by both the American Board of Radiology and the American
Board of Family Medicine, a testament to his diverse clinical foundation and
specialized procedural training. Prior to joining IR Centers, Dr. Nwanze served the
community in Laredo, Texas, delivering comprehensive IR care at Laredo Medical
Center and with Laredo Interventional Radiology Associates.

Dr. Nwanze is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and
expanding access to advanced interventional therapies in the El Paso region. His skill
set, clinical experience, and commitment to innovation make him a valuable member of
the IR Centers team.
